Friday, January 8, 2016, after our A4TW board meeting, the Director Jeff Goldsberry along with his wife, Elizabeth, joined my wife and I for dinner at BJ's Brew-house in San Antonio, TX. This was the first opportunity for my wife and I to meet Elizabeth.
As we walked in, the restaurant was large, open, and buzzing with people. It made a great dinner atmosphere. The food was fantastic as well. We spoke about the direction of A4TW and about our children, the conversation even led into biblical discussion and some of my corny bible jokes. All in all it was a wonderful night.

However, we soon learned the details of Elizabeth's pain situation. A few years ago, not sure on the time-frame honestly, Elizabeth had a surgery on her midsection. The result was tragic. She has had surgery after surgery since, I believe around 30. As of now she has no stomach. Just as a reminder, this beautiful vibrant, God-loving woman is the wife of A4TW's Director Jeff Goldsberry. He has not only put his life into A4TW, and into his own thriving lighting business, but has also been in devoted prayer and loving service to his wife.
Many of you are aware of the situation and have been in constant prayer and we are thankful. For those who don't know, Elizabeth's stomach has been completely removed. They have stapled her esophagus to her intestines to bypass it which makes eating literally anything very painful. She has had serious health issue because of this and has been in unimaginable pain, yet even so, we had an amazing night together. She has such a passion for the word of God and has so much energy and life despite her circumstance. She is in a situation so hard it is probably impossible for most of us to even comprehend. And in the midst of it all, she is still persevering as a faithful daughter of Christ, missions supporter, and loving mother to there 2 year old little girl as well as many other older children.
Please join with us in prayer and intercession for Elizabeth's health. God can give her a new stomach. God can take the pain. God can all her full nutrients. All He has to do is speak. So please be faithful and remember this family. Save the picture I posted and pray for them. For God's power is made perfect in our weakness. May that perfect power now overcome and strengthen her as never before. Amen.
